So, I’ve finally realized the problem with this blog. It’s simple, its way too specific of a blog. It only focuses on one thing and seeing that my mind catches speeds up to 1,000 mph, It was hard for me to focus want to pay much attention to it. But that all changes NOW. apkcc . is only one part of what we’re about so why have a blog that only focuses on that? If we open it up a bit more, we can show the shit that we’re really on. Everything thing from the art to the film/music production and to the screenwriting. So from this day forth, this is no longer the blog for just psrsly koo ., the clothing line. This is the blog that represents the whole shabang, the full package, all of the aspects. From now on, we’re showing the conglomerate as a whole.

We have been gone for way, way too long. Haven’t we?

But kooLIGANS . do not fret, the real world (you know the one beyond the QWERTY keyboard, monitor, and the internet) has been opening me up to all different kinds of wonders. I wish i could honestly say that they have all been terrific but they haven’t. The temptress known as Self Discovery has once again shown her face. This time, however, she also brought her sister Uncertainty around, and they played their mind games on me until I was drained. Physically and mentally. But as always, though these past few months have been hard, filled with nights of nonsober thoughts and concerns, they have also been positive. My eyes have been opened up to all new kinds of things. New music, new styles, new artists, new shows and a new understanding of people and life as a whole. However, I will not bore you with any more blabber about my self journey.All that is left to say is that psrsly koo . is back and we are stronger and more progressive than ever.

So a couple of weeks ago on an unnecessarily hot Wednesday in the South Bronx, I decided to go get a delicious Famous Bowl from KFC (of course, the bowl wasn’t made properly and ended up not being so delicious) and I encountered a homeless man standing in front of the door, opening it for all entering and exiting customers. As I walked in, he opened the door for me and I said “Thank You” and kept it moving. As I was sitting down eating, I couldnt help but watch this man’s every move. With each and every person who walked in, he flashed a big smile, in hopes to be rewarded with some spare change for his action. Most people just walked through the doors, not acknowledging him, while others said “Thank you” and even less actually rewarded him.

As I was eating the poorly made Famous Bowl, dozens and dozens of questions were flashing across my brain. “How did he end up in this predicament?” “How hard could his life have been?” ” What can I do to help him?” “Does he even deserve my or anyone else’s help?” At this point, I was having an inner debate on whether I should buy this man a meal or not. It was almost as if I was looking for any excuse not to help him. As if I needed to see him do something extraordinary for me to lend a helping hand to someone in need. But really, how sad is that? Have we, as people, dropped to a low in which, we must first judge and place our own opinion on others before we decide to help them?

Eventually, I realized that it was not my place to judge him and that my duty as a fellow human being was to do what I can to help. A couple of dollars out of my pocket would barely affect my life, however, it could possibly change his. This entry is not to show how thoughtful and helpful I was. It’s to point out that compassion should not be something that needs to be thought about it, it should be second nature. Whatever the reason he is in the situation that he’s in is not what’s important. The important thing is that whatever the reason is, we are willing to help because helping one another is the only way that we can make this world a better place.

Hmm.. how do I even start this? So I just got the news through facebook that a kid I’ve met once or twice through my circle of friends was stabbed in the chest and died a couple of hours ago. I don’t even think it’s necessary for me to type my usual “positive energy creates more positive energy” speech because the way that he passed speaks for itself. I do believe in destiny and I do believe that everything happens for a reason and that this in some way, shape, or form will create some sort of goodness in this world, however, that doesn’t make murder rokay. To rip someone’s life away is a big deal. We as people are lovers, fighters, caterers, creators, givers, takers and its insane to think how the insertion of one’s blade can completely just stop that. You gotta have some nerve to think it’s okay for you to step into the picture and deface someone else’s creation.

But as I said earlier, I don’t want this entry to be my usual spiel. What I want the overall message of this entry to be is that dwelling on death is pointless and counterproductive to the growth of life. We are all going to die. That’s no secret. There is no fountain of youth to change that, and if there is, then that thing is hidden so well that none of us will ever live long enough to find it. So why worry about the inevitable? It seems that with westernization we came to the conclusion that we can somehow stop death. We build machines that make life easier safer so that we can live longer. We make medicines and sell products throwing around the false belief that we can somehow extend this journey. No one wants to accept the fact that we all have an expiration date and that when its time to go, we go. All things come to an end. Life is not meant to be a never-ending story. Just like that movie and any other movie, book or show, there is a beginning, there are chapters in between and there is an end.

The importance of our story is the journey. What you did within those chapters and how your actions made a difference is what is essential. I’d like to say that we have two choices: to be a creator or a destroyer but then I’d by lying to you and myself because most of us are a tad bit of both. However, the fact that we have a journey is not what makes our life beautiful and worth cherishing either. Everything has a journey and an arc. The fact that we are even here is what’s beautiful. The fact that millions and millions of sperms raced to get to that egg to and one specific one made it through to create you. Pure existence is the miracle of life. This does not mean that because every being is a miracle that therefore, there are no miracles because each of us are different and special in our own way.

So you see, dwelling on our inevitable end is senseless. It’s only purpose is to blind us from the reason that we are special and why ultimately, we should be celebrated. the fact that we live in the first place.

So about two weeks ago, after a long night of partying and hanging out with friends, I was nearly ran over by a car because I was black. But please, do not get this blog entry confused with one about how racism still exists in our society and how we need to stop the ignorance. That is not at all what I’m saying. To give you a better understanding of the theme of this story, I think I should mention that at the party I was at was prior to the discriminatory event, I had the urge to fight with 2 other individuals because I felt really disrespected by them. You see, I’m usually not the type to wanna pop on anyone around me that pisses me off. Though, I do get the urge to smack someone for being ignorant every once in a while, I realize how immature and how regressive fighting really is. I actually have a good amount of friends who consider me the “peacekeeper” because of these ideas but for some reason on this night, all those morals had completely left my head and I was ready to scrap with two complete strangers.

Anyways, after leaving the party, I was standing on the corner getting ready to cross the street (not even a foot from the curb) when a car swerved my way with this big Italian guy cursing me out, threatening to run me over for standing where I was. Now, if you’re from NYC, you know that NO ONE stands on the curb, that’s just our nature, therefore I said a couple of smart remarks to the driver, egging him on. This led to the car coming to a complete stop and the driver getting out the car, telling me how badly he was gonna “fuck me up.” Now though, I do believe that fighting should be a last resort. I am in no way a pacifist. If someone threatens my safety then I will step up and fight the battle. So obviously, I stepped to the dude, ready to square off. At this point, the crew of people I was with and the pack of people on the street jumped in between us to avoid a fight, therefore avoiding the police. By this moment, I had lost it. I was shit talking, and fighting the crowd and my friends to get to this guy while he did the same. At one point, he was actually able to get a hand through the crowd of people and gently knock me in the forehead which in turn caused me to go insane. Eventually, after more shit talking, a beer bottle being broken and some lovely ladies calming me down, the dude jumped back into his car and drove off.

The point of this story is that negativity attracts more negativity. Can I truly say that if I was a positive person all day that this racist guy wouldn’t have a picked a fight with me on the street? No. But I truly believe that a positive attitude would’ve completely changed the events of that night. Here I am, trying to create a clothing company all about positive energy and making the world a better place, yet my foolish actions on a Saturday night just brought more into it.

Anyways, thank you for reading this extremely long story and remember positivity just brings more positivity into this world.

A couple of weeks have gone by since the floods in Pakistan have flowed and the number of people effected by this are staggering & record breaking.

Over 20 MILLION PEOPLE.

That is MORE THAN THE COMBINED TOTAL of the 2004 Tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake, the 2010 Haiti earthquake, and the American Katrina disaster.

How many of you knew about this? It’s a shame at the extreme lack of coverage on this horrific disaster. Pakistan is getting MINIMAL help.

Ignorance never ends, a recent poll was taken in America on whether if they would donate or have donated to Pakistan or not. 67% DO NOT wish or want to help Pakistan. 67%.

And as for the donations that are being sent… 60% of aid needed now, has not been delivered. Who has them & why haven’t they reached the public?

I was born in Karachi, Pakistan. My city is located in the south region of Pakistan (Sindh province). I can not fathom the words….The amount of hurt I am feeling.

No one is helping.

I try to blog about it daily…only getting a few notes or so..I post a picture of myself and in come the notes and comments. What I’m trying to say is, Please…take note of this. These people are innocent and now they are homeless and sick. Children are dying quickly due to the lack of care. People have drowned, crops are ruined..animals are dead, & homes are gone. It is being speculated that my city will eventually drown since it’s already low. The floods haven’t hurt my region yet but they have affected my friends & families home and so many other innocent people.

This picture breaks my heart..I want you all to look at this picture. What do you see?

Do you see terrorists? Do you see future killers? Do you see another plot against America? Do you see that in those mosquitoes that can possibly and most likely have left diseases such as malaria? Do you see harm in that empty bottle?

Extremists are the ones to blame, not Muslims. Why should we be left hopeless? We didn’t do anything.

And as for the Qu’ran burning this weekend in Florida, I believe….

The thought of that night makes me cry. Do you all understand the severity and ignorance of that act? Why isn’t anyone stopping them? My religion, my faith didn’t hurt you. EXTREMISTS DID. They are NOT religious. My faith is NOT a cult.

I don’t know what to do. I honestly don’t know. I’ve never felt this helpless. No one is helping, no one cares. Fuck neither do my own best friends know much about this.

Just look at this picture and think about what you’ve just read.

Help. Please.

If you can…I’m not asking for a shitload of cash. But please, try to donate. Donating to UNICEF will send aid to children. Donate to the Red Cross & the UN Foundation. I trust the most in these three foundations, they’ve actually managed to send and successfully help the victims.

One-fifth of the country is under water; 20 million+ people are homeless. All I ask is for you to help a little and spread awareness.
